May 21st, 2008 - Vhayu and StreamBase today announced they have joined forces to deliver a tightly integrated platform for real-time and historical market data storage and analysis.
Vhayu and StreamBase Partner to Provide Real-Time and Historical Market Data Solutions for Hedge Funds and Investment Banks
Jeff Hudson, CEO, Vhayu: “By combining StreamBase’s Event Processing Platform™ and Vhayu Velocity, we are responding to the market need for CEP software to be tightly integrated with a high performance tick database.”
The partnership will provide financial
institutions with the powerful combination of an easy-to-use, high performance
complex event processing (CEP) platform tightly integrated with a high speed
tick database.
In the increasingly competitive world of
capital markets, the winners are those hedge funds and investment banks who can
apply better analytics on shorter timescales to fast moving market data. Customers
using StreamBase and Vhayu can do this because they are able to rapidly build
real-time applications that load or query large volumes of historical tick
data. StreamBase's high performance CEP platform and Vhayu's Velocity
enterprise class market data analysis and storage solution allow customers to
easily back-test their real-time analytics by drawing on large quantities of
historical data. Any quantitative analyst who uses an iterative test and revise
process to refine their predictive or trading models will find the combination
of StreamBase and Vhayu Velocity greatly accelerates their work.
“By combining StreamBase’s Event Processing
Platform™ and Vhayu Velocity, we are responding to the market need for CEP
software to be tightly integrated with a high performance tick database,” says
Jeff Hudson, CEO at Vhayu. “If that integration doesn’t exist, the CEP engine
has to make outside queries to relational database technology, which adds
latency that renders some algos unusable. The joint solution allows firms to
devise algorithmic and quantitative strategies, which may require months to
years of tick data to discover past patterns that may predict existing or
future trading conditions.”
Chris Risley, CEO, Streambase: “Our customers have been calling for increased data management and analysis capabilities, and this partnership with Vhayu is in direct answer to those calls,”
