May 21st, 2008 - Allied Testing has launched the next generation of their product – BEST 2.0 (Back-End System Tester) – Performance Testing and Test Automation platform targeted at complex distributed server back-ends.

BEST - a platform for development of Test Harnesses around distributed back-ends - gives the ability to emulate many different client and server connections from a single script. Launched in 2006 and aimed at the financial sector, BEST has been in a growing demand by banking and investment organizations.

BEST allows you to emulate activity outside infrastructure under the test. The platform is able to emulate servers inside or outside of distributed back-end, create large numbers of virtual users and connect them to multiple servers, manipulate servers under the test, and monitor the events inside the back-end. Development of test scripts, test frameworks, server/client emulators, and test reports are implemented in a powerful integrated development environment - BEST Studio application.

Specifically designed frameworks such as Order Management framework, Market Data Framework, Environment Support Framework, Web Framework and many more allow for efficient development of test scenarios for both performance and functional testing and significant improvement of QA processes. It guarantees high quality systems and minimizes company’s production issue losses.

BEST 2.0 comes with the following new features:

Stand alone and scriptable server emulators. The emulators allow you to control market data and trading interfaces from a single script.

“Network pump” scripts. These scripts allow you to prerecord message flows (orders, market data updates, etc) with highest rates. The addition of these scripts gives an ability to emulate a significant load on server environment ensuring the performance and capacity of environment under the test. Actual message flows can be fine tuned to emulate different load shapes.

Powerful reporting module. Users can develop customized reports to help present and analyze the results of functional and performance testing specific to the tests and the testing environment.

Support for latest trading/financial protocols.
