High Performance Computing

New advances in high-performance computing applications are enabling analysts, researchers, scientists and engineers to run more complex and detailed simulations and analyses than ever before. These applications deliver game-changing insights, bring new products to market and place greater demand on existing IT infrastructures.

This ever-growing demand drives the need for instant access to resources - compute, storage, and network. Users are seeking cutting-edge technologies and tools to help them better capture, understand and leverage increasing volumes of data as well as build infrastructures that are energy-efficient and can easily scale as their business grow.

New integrated server and storage solutions will incorporate IBM POWER CPUs with Mellanox's end-to-end FDR 56Gb/s InfiniBand and 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet interconnect solutions. Organizations will be able to quickly adapt to changing business needs and get products or research out of the door faster utilizing these new solutions.

These more capable and efficient solutions will drive data at optimal rates, maximize performance and efficiency for all types of applications and workloads, and enable dynamic storage solutions. This will allow many applications to share data repositories in the most efficient manner.

Open Power Foundation

This collaboration between Mellanox and IBM further builds on the August 2013 announcement of the OpenPOWER Foundation. The foundation is comprised of IBM, NVIDIA, Google, Mellanox, Samsung and Tyan and other industry technology leaders that aim to establish an open ecosystem based on IBM's POWER architecture.

The OpenPOWER Foundation intends to build advanced server, networking, storage and acceleration technology aimed at delivering more choice, control and flexibility to developers of next-generation, hyperscale and cloud data centers.
