With over five hundred senior level delegates and a full and varied agenda of highly relevant topics delivered by more than fifty speakers, last week's FIX Protocol EMEA Trading Conference at London's Old Billingsgate was a great success. Automated Trader's John Howard caught up with Toby Corballis and Kevin Houstoun of Rapid Addition to talk about the recent adoption of Rapid Addition's FIX solution by the London Stock Exchange, as well as some of the challenges for market participants. The trio discussed a number of issues including latency, smart order routing, fragmentation, and what can be done to stem the escalating implementation costs associated with creating proprietary interfaces to multiple trading venues.
