SUMMARY

Cognitive Capital, LLC seeks asoftware developer to help develop its state-of-the-art, real-timeautomated trading system. In addition to possessing excellentanalytical and technical skills, the successful candidate will be acreative problem solver, a clear communicator, and a strong teamplayer.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Extensive experience writing scripts in Perl or Python (3+ years).
  • Ability to handle large amounts of data; extract it, store it, and create reports to distill the information in meaningful and creative ways.
  • Strong experience working with relational databases.
  • Web experience and familiarity with LAMP, AJAX, Ruby on Rails or similar.
  • Able to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Capable of building scalable and robust processes.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND

  • A minimum of two years relevant work experience in financial markets.
  • BS/BA degree required. (Coursework in statistics, finance, or computer science preferred.)

DESIRABLE BACKGROUND AND SKILLS

  • Familiarity with C++ development.
  • Experience with Ruby and R considered a plus.
  • Experience with electronic trading systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify, track, and maintain metrics for automated trading system.
  • Support the financial engineers and portfolio manager with their data and script writing requirements.
  • Produce detailed reports with charts and graphs in some web based form.
  • Define and implement new procedures as needed for data collection and analysis.
  • Ensure smooth trading operations by performing regular data integrity checks.
  • Identify and respond to system incidents and problems.
  • Select and implement software tools to support execution and management of procedures.
  • Work with colleagues to identify and develop opportunities to enhance and improve trading system procedures.
