Concord, NH - BittWare, the provider of Altera-based COTS FPGA boards, has announced the S5-PCIe-F (S5PE-F), the most recent addition to their Altera Stratix V family of boards.
FMC site support based on the VITA 57 mezzanine standard for FPGA I/O provides SerDes and LVDS, along with clocks, I2C, and JTAG all connected directly to the Stratix V enabling designers to customize the S5PE-F to their individual needs with a variety of I/O or processor FMCs. A new memory structure provides flexibility with two SODIMM sites that support up to 16 GB DDR3 SDRAM with optional error-correcting codes (ECC) as well as options for up to 1 GByte RLDRAM3 and up to 72 MBytes QDRII+.

The options for FMC I/O and memory SODIMMs combined with BittWare's FPGA IP Libraries aims to enhance productivity and portability and improve processing efficiency. The S5PE-F is a solution for signal processing and data acquisition in instrumentation, communications, medical and non-rugged military applications.
