BittWare announces Altera Stratix V GX/GS PCI express board with FMC site support and SODIMM sites for memory expansion for signal processing and data acquisition applications.

Concord, NH - BittWare, the provider of Altera-based COTS FPGA boards, has announced the S5-PCIe-F (S5PE-F), the most recent addition to their Altera Stratix V family of boards.

FMC site support based on the VITA 57 mezzanine standard for FPGA I/O provides SerDes and LVDS, along with clocks, I2C, and JTAG all connected directly to the Stratix V enabling designers to customize the S5PE-F to their individual needs with a variety of I/O or processor FMCs. A new memory structure provides flexibility with two SODIMM sites that support up to 16 GB DDR3 SDRAM with optional error-correcting codes (ECC) as well as options for up to 1 GByte RLDRAM3 and up to 72 MBytes QDRII+.

"BittWare's end goal is to give our customers access to the technology they need the way they need it. The S5PE-F does just that by providing an Altera Stratix V FPGA - arguably the most powerful FPGA on the market today - on a PCI Express board supporting Gen1, Gen2 and Gen3," stated Jeff Milrod, President and CEO at BittWare. "Between the VITA 57 FMC site with full High Pin Count support and the two SODIMM sites, our COTS board can be fully customized to any application. Additional processing, data conversion, and excessive amounts of memory - whatever your application needs, this board is an ideal solution."

The options for FMC I/O and memory SODIMMs combined with BittWare's FPGA IP Libraries aims to enhance productivity and portability and improve processing efficiency. The S5PE-F is a solution for signal processing and data acquisition in instrumentation, communications, medical and non-rugged military applications.
