Companies are deploying connected devices and sensors together with analytics to gain insights, make predictions and improve business results. This is increasing the velocity and volume of machine-generated data exponentially driving the need for new approaches and technologies for processing, storing and analyzing this information. The IIC, founded in 2014 by AT&T, Cisco, General Electric, IBM and Intel, is encouraging these developments across industries including energy, healthcare, manufacturing, smart cities and transportation.
Przemek Tomczak, Senior Vice-President IoT and Utilities, Kx Systems said: "The Industrial Internet of Things is leading the digital transformation of entire industries including manufacturing, energy, and telecommunications. We are excited to work with the IIC and its members to accelerate the adoption of best practices for big and fast sensor data management and analytics to enable this transformation."
