The Q3 edition of Automated Trader is now online. AT readers don't tend to miss much, so it won't take you long to notice that we have two major themes running through this issue - India and regulation.
Industry Developments
Who will emerge as the top SEFs in the post-Dodd-Frank landscape?
GreySpark published a study that looked at who they were and what
they were likely to be offering.
FIA EPTA published a set of best practice rules detailing
recommendations on preventing market manipulation and controlling risks.
On the exchange front, ASX and SGX struck a co-location agreement,
while London Metal Exchange shareholders approved
the pending acquisition by HKEx. Also, NASDAQ OMX's contract to
operate the TOCOM commodity derivatives platform was
extended to 2019.
Fidessa has been chosen to provide Korea
based Daiwa with a single trading platform across its Asian
operations. Fidessa's trading platform was also selected by
Newedge this week, with trading hubs in
Chicago and London now live, and other platforms to be rolled out
in Asia later this year.
Products and services
MarketAxess expanded of its suite of
electronic trading protocols for credit market liquidity;
Advent Software announced a collaboration
with Data Agent to provide tools for hedge funds to meet Form PF
reporting requirements; and
ITG enhanced its Hedge Pro Algorithm with Switch Trade
execution strategy.
Thomson Reuters expanded its Elektron data solutions for US customers;
announced a partnership with GFI Group & SDIC Trust to create
a Beijung based FX & money brokerage; and
added tropical weather insight and analytics
to the
Eikon information desk.
Chilean brokerage house Larrain Vial employed FIX Flyer's Trade Simulation and Certification
tool to test in-house algorithms and connectivity to the
exchange and to MILA; SpryWare partnered with ORATS' options
analytics data to offer forecasted dividends via SpryWare's feed
handler technology; and Peresys, the subsidiary of IRESS, deployed
its trading architecture in South Africa to take advantage of the
recent relocation of the JSE matching engine from London to
Johannesburg.
Meanwhile, following the recent introduction of equities trading
in Indonesia and Malaysia, Liquidnet announced the addition of Turkish
equities to its platform.

this time it's Nomura, where Chief Executive Officer Kenichi
Watanabe and Chief Operating Officer Takumi Shibata resigned over
an insider trading scandal.
