"We are very happy to be working with Mercuria to further improve their energy trading infrastructure."
Ottawa - Solace Systems has announced that Mercuria Energy Group, the energy trading firm, has selected Solace's Unified Messaging Platform as the foundation of its trading system. Mercuria is using Solace's market appliances to accelerate information flow within their datacenters and over the wide area network which connects them.
"We get an effective, scalable and performant messaging system in one offering from Solace's Unified Messaging Platform: one that meets a wide range of our messaging requirements and the leading edge pricing execution technology we are building," said Kieron Drake, CTO at Mercuria.
Traditionally, trading platforms have consisted of a reliable messaging platform for market data delivery and a separate guaranteed messaging platform for transactions such as orders and trade confirmations. Solace offers a turnkey appliance that includes messaging functionality to meet both of those requirements, along with WAN optimization, high availability, business continuity and advanced application monitoring.
"Mercuria has quickly risen to be a leader in their field by focusing on where they can differentiate, and being the best in the world at what they do," said Craig Betts, CEO of Solace Systems. "We are very happy to be working with Mercuria to further improve their energy trading infrastructure."
