Voice and data connectivity provider chooses Geo to connect key UK data centres

Chris Smedley, Chief Executive, Geo: "Epsilon,s customers will be able to receive much higher network speeds to enable them to deliver applications and services to customers without having to worry unnecessarily about the pressure on bandwidth."

Epsilon, a provider of voice and data connectivity and other network related services, has leased three data centre to data centre connections from dedicated fibre network and business communications specialist, Geo. These high bandwidth, low latency fibre connections will enable Epsilon to extend the reach and diversity if its UK network.

The new data centre to data centre connections will link Epsilon Telecity to TeleHouse East, Epsilon Diverse DF Telecity to TeleHouse East, and Epsilon 2 x DF Telecity to TeleHouse North.

Epsilon has an existing network in the UK, but needed a back-up to provide a high quality business continuity solution to give the company true diversity on its underlying infrastructure. In addition, Epsilon required a second fibre optic network in order to support a key customer for whom speed of network delivery and bandwidth is important.

Andreas Hipp, CEO of Epsilon, said: “This was a significant deal for Epsilon as we provide global connectivity solutions between all the major regional telecommunications hubs to facilitate voice and data communications for carrier customers. Reliability, resilience, customer service and speed of delivery are therefore critical. We do not simply measure return on investment in Pounds Sterling but more importantly in customer satisfaction and ideally zero churn. It was important for us to work with a fibre network provider like Geo because it could provide us with the right national network reach and performance to ensure that we remain a leader in our market.”

Chris Smedley, Chief Executive of Geo, adds: “We have invested heavily in developing our national fibre network and have recently reached a landmark in the expansion of our core infrastructure, with 2,500km of fibred duct now available throughout the UK. We have the newest, most fibre-rich network available in Britain. No other provider has the capacity, reliability and reach to match Geo. Epsilon’s customers will be able to receive much higher network speeds to enable them to deliver applications and services to customers without having to worry unnecessarily about the pressure on bandwidth.”
