SGX offers Bocker another three years at the helm

Magnus Bocker was offered a new contract that runs to June 2015 to lead SGX as the exchange's board voiced its approval of the changes his team have made


Singapore - Singapore Exchange Chief Executive Magnus Bocker has been offered an extended contract through to the middle of 2015, SGX said.

Bocker, formerly president of NASDAQ OMX and before that head of Nordic exchange OMX, joined SGX on Dec 1, 2009 on a three-year contract.

The SGX board applauded the changes since the initial appointment.

"The management team has raised SGX's profile and standing among international exchanges, expanded its suite of offerings with innovative products, sustained its vigilance over investors' interests, and delivered dependable dividends to shareholders," said SGX Chairman Chew Choon Seng.
