Announcement of the Third Annual Automated Trading Championship 2008

June 5th, 2008 - MetaQuotes Software Corp. Presents the Third Annual World Automated Trading Championship.

In this competition, instead of traders, their Expert Advisors will compete for a prize of $80,000.

The main purpose of the Championship competition is the promotion of Automated Trading in general, with a particular focus on MetaQuotes Language 4 (MQL4).

Automated Trading is becoming more and more popular among traders and the results of the two previous Championships confirm this. In 2006, 258 developers world-wide, participated in the Championship, whilst in 2007 the number of participants reached 603. Aside from this, the increase in Expert Advisors profitability confirms the growing quality of its development. The winner of the first Championship increased his initial investment 3.5 times, while the 2007 Winner multiplied his by 13. All of this focuses more attention on Automated Trading from traders and investors.

A further aim of the Automated Trading Championship is to demonstrate the operation of Expert Advisors in real conditions; and to raise the general level of understanding of these programs. To achieve this end, the competition organizer; MetaQuotes Software Corp. is creating a dedicated website. All visitors to the site will have the opportunity to observe the actions of an Expert Advisor.

During the whole Championship this internet resource will publish statistical reports, interviews with developers, articles, and various video materials. All of which will contribute to a better understanding of both the successes and failures of Expert Advisors, and subsequently, of ways in which to emulate these successes and to avoid the failures.

 

The Championship will start on the 1st of October 2008 and will end on the 26th of December 2008.
