SINGAPORE--Tiger Airways Holdings Ltd. (J7X.SG) Friday named Koay Peng Yen as group chief executive from Aug. 10 and said its current CEO Chin Yau Seng will return to Singapore Airlines Ltd. (C6L.SG).
Mr. Koay was the executive director of Pacific Carriers Ltd. and PaxOcean Engineering Group of the Kuok Group companies involved in the marine engineering, offshore engineering services, and shipping industries, Tiger said in a statement.
Mr. Koay is also a former veteran of container shipper Neptune Orient Lines Ltd., having previously spent 18 years there, the statement said.
Mr. Chin had been parachuted in to Tiger Airways from Singapore Airlines in July last year when the carrier's fleet was grounded in Australia for six weeks on safety concerns. He had later expressed his desire to return to Singapore Airlines, prompting a search for a replacement.
A Singapore Airlines spokesman said that the company hasn't yet decided on a role for Mr Chin.
