LONDON--British Sky Broadcasting Group PLC, or BSkyB, (BSY.LN) Wednesday said it purchased 23,000 ordinary shares, for cancellation, at a volume weighted average price of 686.2709 pence per share on July 10.

MAIN FACTS:

-Will purchase 14,791 shares at 686.2709 pence per share from News U.K. Nominees Limited for cancellation on July 11.

-Shares at 0719 GMT up 3 pence, or 0.4%, at 691 pence.
