SINGAPORE -(Dow Jones)- Mapletree Commercial Trust has begun a two-week investor education program for its Singapore initial public offer and is expected to list on April 8, people familiar with the transaction said Tuesday.

One of the people said the offering will represent about 60% of Mapletree's total outstanding units. The offer will also include a 10% overallotment.

According to an indicative timetable, a one-week management roadshow is expected to commence March 22 with listing likely April 8, the person said.

Another person said the trust could lodge a prospectus with the Monetary Authority of Singapore in about two weeks.

Mapletree Investments, the parent of the trust and a unit of Singapore state investment firm Temasek Holdings, is looking to raise about S$1 billion through the listing of the trust, people told Dow Jones Newswires earlier this year.

The group has appointed DBS, Deutsche Bank, CIMB, Citigroup and Goldman Sachs to arrange the offer.
