US' Geithner, Summers: Five-point plan to modernize regulation

In an op-ed piece in the Washington post, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and National Economic Council director Lawrence Summers detail the five-point plan being unveiled this week to modernize regulation of financial markets.
"We will lead the effort to improve regulation and supervision around the world," they say.
"Now is the time to act".
The initiatives include higher capital requirements, more robust reporting standards and more consumer protection.
