Preview: UK CBI manufacturing survey to confirm modest June improvement
First Published Thursday, 9 July 2009 from Need to Know News
The Confederation of British Industry's (CBI) latest industrial trends survey is likely to confirm an improvement in the manufacturing sector.
The headline order books balance is expected to improve to -50 in June from -56 in May.
This result would be the strongest since January, although it would still mean most manufacturers reporting falling order books.
Other surveys have shown steady improvement in recent months with the PMI manufacturing poll showing output contracting only very modestly in May.
Need to Know News' Scream Audio will broadcast the figure live at 11.00am BST on Thursday, June 18.
