Darling says Treasury proposals to extend regulatory remit, possibly over hedge funds

UK Chancellor Alistair Darling said that the Treasury's 'White Paper' on banking supervisory proposals will extend the regulatory remit to possibly include hedge funds.
The UK's chief regulator, the Financial Services Authority (FSA) could be ordered to take a more proactive approach to prevent a return to pay hikes and bonuses, Darling said in an interview published in today's edition of The Independent.
